I find myself using this extension less and less as more Web developers code their Web sites following standards. I receive lot of phone calls daily, most of them are from mobile phones and operators are releasing new series everyday so it is hard for everyone to know from which state and which operator we got call or miss call.

I advise using one of these two option to trace mobile no.

Using Wiki – Using Wikipedia you can find list of first 4 digit on mobile no. and check that which operator operate this on which state. They have regularly updated list so you will get list of all no. First 2 digit are operator code and 3rd and 4th are zone code and rest 6 digit are subscriber number.

Another way of tracing is they way I use. It is very simple, you just need to enter mobile numbers and no need to find anything in big list. There are lot of sites available which provide this type of services, you can just Google for it and you will get a big list.

To do this open notepad dump the following lines into it and save it with the name OEMINFO.INI in the c:\windows\system32 directory:

Many people go to mobile shops and pay money to format their phones, now I am going to tell you how to do all these things for free and save your money.

There are 3 types of formatting in these devices.

1. Soft Resetting
A soft reset is process to reset setting to factory default, no application will be deleted from your phone.

Backup your phonebook, calender before using this.

It will ask for security code, default code is 12345, enter it and phone will restart. The phone will be restored to time you purchased and no default apps will be deleted.

2. Hard Resetting
It is like formatting a memory disk. Everything that has been installed other than default apps at the time of purchase are deleted. The phone’s setting will be restored to time of when your purchased. Default apps will not be deleted.

It will ask for security code, enter default code 12345 if you did not changed it. then proceed as in previous step.

Note- Make sure that battery is full or connect charger to phone so it does not run out of power and make phone unusable.

3. Flashing, Hard Full Formatting
If any of above method fails then you have another way to format. Try this for big problems like – blank screen, unable to boot, unable to uninstall any installed apps, unable to delete certain files on phone memory. This step is also known as flashing of phone. Do this only if 1st and 2nd steps not solve your problem.
Here is way to do this-

1. Make sure phone is full charged. (minimum 3/4 battery should be left)
2. Backup your contact list and personal files to Memory Card.
3. Switch off your phone.
4. Press and hold these 3 buttons together – Green Dial Key, * (star key), 3 (Three Key)

Then press power on button on phone. Keep pressing those keys until you see screen showing formatting.

After some minutes your phone will be formatted and almost every problem will be solved.

This may work outside of Rajasthan but I have tried it only at Rajasthan so don’t know about other states.

My friend using this trick from last 4 month and using mobile office for free. Here are some simple steps you can do if you want to get free GPRS on your Airtel.

First someone who can get you a  SIM outside of Rajasthan, he got from Mumbai, then activate mobile office in that SIM. Once activated then tell that person to send you that SIM in Rajasthan.

Once you start using this in Rajasthan you need to recharge again for Mobile Office. It will work for free. I don’t know how long this trick will work but my friend using this form last 4 month that saving him Rs 395/- every month. You can save your money too by doing this simple work.
